7:00 flat... I just suck at running any distance - I'm a sprinty kind of guy.

1609 meters = 1 mile

I ran 4:39 as PR junior year of HS. My forte was the 800, though, 1:56 PR.

Spike is clearly shenning when he says he ran a 4:12 his freshman year of high school. Unless he got some sort of serious injury where his legs fell off, raw talent like that does not go unnutured the last three years of HS.

Meh, it doesnt prove I ran a 4:09, but its more than the other people can show for, who are saying crazy times. :D

Also, you can see my 2 Illinois state track numbers (the large ones) and the number for my University of Iowa invitational (left side, towards bottom). Iowa wont just let any scrub go there to run in their meet. ;)

haha pwnd. G-dayumn nick, i rememer you ran but that aint bad. part of any runner's diet

Best time for me was 7:40 or so in High School, maybe 9th or 10th grade. I'm struggling with 12-minute miles right now. :(

Hicham El Gerrouj has the current 1 mile world record, and it's 3:43. You did not run a 3:37.

I mean, seriously, you could beat my cutlass in the quarter mile if you can run a 3:37 :)

Nick, Nick, Nick, what are you doing at a D3 school? Didn't you say you're not even the fastest guy on your team? That's crazy. My college (D3) sent some guys to Nationals and our fastest miler only runs 4:15 or so. a 4:09, that's D1 caliber dude.

THats so he can whip everyones asses :)

But seriously, 6 seconds on the best day in his life is enough to make a diff between D1 and D3?

Well, a 4:09 wouldn't be a good D1 time, but it might get him into a D1 school. It's a spectacular D3 time though. Most of the D3 schools around here have runners around my speed as their fastest runners.

4:54 in high school once, but that was 50 lbs. and 15 years ago

I resemble that remark:)

I don't think I ever ran a timed mile. I ran 52.4 400m & 11:19 two mile in HS, and a 36:20 10K (avg 5:50 per mile for 6.2 miles) when I was in college but that was "15 years and 50 lbs ago". I ran some low 5 minute miles in the first few miles of a couple of 10K's back then.

The cool thing about running around 36-38 minute 10K's in college - that will put you right up there with the top women, gives you some good incentive those last few miles :p

the last timed one I did was 8 minutes, but that was in 7th grade, and I was a skinny biatch back then. I could do maybe the same right now. I don't really have endurance anymore.

In HS (roughly 12 yrs ago) I hit it in 6. I never was all that fast, but I have pretty good endurance.

I'm with AiponGkooja, I'd rather bike all day in a park or trail somewhere.
