What's the fastest drive and how long does it usually take to burn a full DVD disc on average?

dvd-rw is like 2x burn i believe
dvd+rw is like 2.4x burn

i think i rememebr seeing a drive with 4x burning....maybe it was the new sony drive supporting dvd-rw/dvd+rw

either way about 30-45min per dvd4 disc

//edit
some more i found
"DVD-R will record DVDs at a maximum speed of 2.73 MBps. DVD+R records DVDs at a maximum speed of 3.32 MBps. All of the DVD recorders mentioned below can also record to CD media. DVD-R burners record at a maximum 8x speed. DVD+R will record to CD media at a maximum of 12x. "

Sony DRU500A supports 4X DVD-R burning. However, 4X DVD-R isn't out until next month. About then the new Pioneer A05 should be out too.

Check my sig.

4.3 GBs should take 15 minutes at 4X. My 1X drive takes 1 hour. 4X means 4X, which is equivalent to about 37X in CD-R terms. (Unlike on a CD-RW, where 32X only means 20 something X.)
