Hey, I have this 810e motherboard lying around. Its pretty compact, its a GVC DF701 mobo based on the 810e chipset. So far, I've found out that it supports Celeron/Coppermine processors with FC-PGA packaging (not FC-PGA2).

So I want to know what's the fastest celery I can put on this mobo... I did a search on intel's website, and now I'm even more confused.

ANY info would be appreciated... toss in your pennies please!

thanks

Well, if it can take Coppermine's then you can go up to 1.1GHz Celeron's. That is prolly as high as you will go (there is a B-Stepping of 810e but you prolly dont have it)

if you are adventurous you should be able to put a Tualatin chip in it and go up to 1.4GHz, and maybe overclock it too.

I put a Tualatin Celeron 1.1A in my 815 motherboard (CUSL2) and am running that at 1.46GHz stable.

But you have to isolate some pins and bridge a few others with thin wire. There are a number of threads on how to do this.

But the fastest non-Tualatin solutions are 1.0GHz P3 or 1.1GHz Celeron (the 1.1A Celeron is a Tualatin and is similar to a P3 (256k cache)).

hey thanks... the search i did on intel's website showed that there are also FC-PGA2 versions of the celeron that is slower than 1.1ghz... I guess I'll just have to trust the person I'm getting the proc from that it is FC-PGA.

thanks guys :D
