My friend wants to know how you shut down programs that are starting up on boot, and I was always under the impression that this was done with MSCONFIG but this isn't present in the windows 2K OS. They're running professional and i'm wondering how you would go about making it so that programs don't start up on bootup. I've already checked the FAQs, just to let you know.

regedit) HKLM-software-microsoft-windows-current version- run most startup programs are run from this folder. Right click and delete what you want to disable. Make sure that it is the correct item. Not the only place for startup programs to hide. search your HDD for others that you can not disable here if there are any.

I would just like to say thank you for this post, I just installed 2000 and was wondering the exact same thing. Downloaded that program and it works wonders, thanks again! :)
