What's the easiest way to remove the thermal goop on the bottom of socket heatsinks?

I just bought my brother a FOP 32 and a syringe of Arctic Silver. I was going to remove the goop but wasn't sure what the best way to do it is. I'm afraid that if I just scrape it off, I'll scratch the bottom of the heatsink. Will rubbing alcohol do the job? Or will I need something like Goo Gone?

I used a razorblade and scraped it off smoothly.
