what's the easiest way to manage multiple computers at once?

I was thinking about getting a single monitor and a server hooked up to an 8-port KVM switch and 8-port ethernet switch

the thing is, the computers might be coming from many different people with different network settings, so not all of them might not be able to communicate. The computers would ultimately go back to the people, so I don't wanna mess up their network settings

any ideas?
