Whats the easiest way to make exact copy of harddrive.

It sounds like the harddrive on my laptop is beginning to go out. Its making a strange noise. What would be the best way to make an exact, copy of my drive, possibly to another drive. Would i have to use a ghosting program or something? I really do not want to lose anything from my drive. My HD is 100gb and about 90 gigs are full. .

norton ghost is what im thinking, something like that. ill just have to purchase a drive. Im not wanting just files and such from backups, which btw i have not made any thus far. Im wanting a complete copy, programs and all.
