What's the easiest way to hide seti?

I was wondering if someone could tell me the easiest way to totally hide the seti command line client and setiq. I tried using setispy to hide the client but it just didn't work for me. I don't really want to run trayer to hide it either. Any help is greatly appreciated.🙂

Use the /h switch to hide the client. So if you made a shortcut (a lot easier than typing it each time. 🙂) it would look like:

"C:\Program Files\SETI@home\SETI@home.exe" /h

Obviously, the file names are wrong, but you get the point. 🙂 And yes, for some reason, the quotes are used in a shortcut. So basically, make a shortcut to the client, go into the shortcut properties, and add a space and then /h

Now for the queuing programs...I know of NO way to hide SETIQ. You could use a program like Trayer to maybe hide it, but the program won't do it, itself. I believe SETIDriver will hide itself in the systray if you want it to. And, although I've never tried the program, supposedly under Win9x, SETIHide will totally hide itself.

Hope that helps! 😀

The quotation marks are required in any Windows command that has a space in the name of the file or the folder in the path, in this case "Program Files"

the best way to do this is delete seti and install the rc5 client! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

yes i know it's wrong but i just can't resist🙂

I wrote a small utility to hide any application window.

Off course it doesn't work for applications that force themselves
back to the windows focus but it does hide a dos window well
and keeps it from showing on the tasks list. It does show on the
system time slice charts on NT and 2000, but I'm working on that.

Email me if you would like a copy, Specify if you want just the
executable or the source code also, Visual Basic5.
