Me and my friend are wanting to share files and were wondering what is the easiest way to transfer files between our computers? I was trying to setup an FTP server but it wont work for some reason or are there any free FTP servers setup that i can send my files to then he can get it and get them?

No because the files we are transfering are pretty big so we were hoping to set it and forget it overnight

i use a filezilla ftp server, load it up like a service on one of the computers (it's pretty automatic). to transfer files person A can upload to person B's server, and person b can just drag the files into the server root and have person A pull the file.

also, make sure the server has the right ports forwared to it (21) on the router and that window's firewall isn't blocking it. Finally, try toggling passive mode on the ftp client to see if it helps.

exactly, I just sent 8.5gigs to my aunt over aim last night. All in 1 .rar archive.

Bittorrent?

D/L utorrent and use it to create a trackerless .torrent file

Seed the file, send the .torrent file to your friend and he can d/l it from you.

Set it and forget it.
