i've heard so much about it, but never used it, so last night i was searching for gnutella, but it comes up with many different clients, are they in a way all the same? which one should a newbie like me should get?
I find gnutella...inefficient. It is a bandwidth whore. PeerGenius is vastly better. It utilizes the same premise as Download Accelerator in that it allows you to download the same file from more than one source. Great program, I'm just curious to see how it scales to a larger userbase.
anyone know if it's possible to force it to use port 21 instead of it's default port. I'm already forwarding port 21 to my comp through the firewall cause I have an FTP site up sometimes, so I was wondering if I could get Gnutella to use that port when I'm not using my ftp server.
P.S. Hey Alpha if you still want some music, I could arrange an account for you on my ftp somenight and you could d/l whatever you want. But I'm on dsl so my upload isn't great.
Weren't you looking for new music a while back and I was going to try and send you some Radiohead and other music over icq but it never worked for some reason? You should be able to get on an ftp tho, even if we are both behind firewalls. If you're not interested, that's cool you won't hurt any feelings Just trying to spread the good music.
