I'm considering buying Unreal Tournament 2004 so I can play the regular game plus the Unwheel mod.

I was wondering what's the difference between the Editors choice package and the Dvd version though? I've looked around but can't figure it out.

-Thx

The editors choice edition include more maps and new vehicles.

The ECE patch is available as a downloadble update for the normal version, but is also available integrated.

The original DVD version is just the original UT2004. The ECE includes bonus packs and some mods from the make something unreal contest. No need to bother with the ECE if it costs any more, just buy the original and all the rest is available for download free.

In fact, they released the mega pack which has everything, except the make something unreal mods. Buy the DVD, install the megapack, and then reinstall the 3369 patch. The megapack is patched to 3369 but it's kind of screwy so you need to reinstall that patch separately afterwards.

About 70 or so mods with d/l links listed here:

Thanks for the info.....never did play this one. Just picked it up at EB for 7.99 and downloaded everything, getting ready to install. Any tips I need to know before I...errrr....he starts the multiplayer frenzy? Damn there is a lot of gametypes.

Onslaught is a lot of fun, though you might practice a little with bots and read the friendly manual to get some clue about what you're doing before heading online.

Does UT2K4 still have an online player community?

Edit: I may download it from newegg for $7.99 if so.
