i know 1/1 runs at 300mhz on my 2.8 at 3150 and that 4/5 runs at 374mhz at 3150

but can you guys shed some light here

if i run the ram at 1/1 i am not pushing it as much as 4/5 by 74mhz right so if i want to overclock higher i should run 1/1 right?

so should i be running at 1/1 ?

confused

the ratio is only affect to the memory...
so when you overclock initially, just set it to 1:1 until you found your sweet spot...then you can work on the memory if it's able to be worked on...

da#@ i subscribed to this thread but it never updated lol

thanks supermanck i don't get any higher 1/1 than 4/5 but i do get reboots if i go over 3.2

this is pointing at my power supply?

i hear the fans change pitch when it enters windows as if you turned a motor on and it is sucking major juice

i can run up to 3.17 or 3.19 but again if i do much ut2003 she reboots

i have had a few hardlocks but only maybe 4 or 5 out of 100 reboots trying to push her in different settings

could it be the corsair xms 3000 ram(512 stick) it goes to 374 no problem?

i am currently saving up for an antec true 430 hoping thats whats holding me back

What PSU do you have now? How do your voltage rails look in MBM5? What do you have your vcore set at? It really sounds to me like you're at the chip's limit for your current voltage. It sounds like you're not very stable, you need to run Prime95 in order to test CPU stability, then memtest86 in order to test memory stability.

prime 95 stable at under 3.20

i ran it 10 hours @ 3150 np

right now :

vcore 1.550 in bios = 1.525 actual

rails as follows

+3.3 @ 2.59
+5.0 @ 4.84
+12.0 @ 12.28
-5.0 @ -5.39
-12.0@ -12.19
150x 21 for 3150
ram timings by speed 2-6-3-3 will run 2-5-2-2
4/5 divider added .10 to voltage on ram
but doesn't make a difference if i don't it will still run fine

psu=generic psu

i was hoping it was the psu:(

i am only running
1 scsi card and scsi hdd
dvd drive
cdrw drive
ati 9700 pro
1 10/100 card
onboard lan
1 soundcard
4 case fans
1 hdd cooler

mbm lists case temp 28c and cpu at 32c lol

Like I said in PM, you've got some room to play with as far voltage goes and that's the name of the game in Northwood OC'ing. A new PSU also wouldn't be a bad idea, just don't go overboard and get like a 500w Antec or something like that unless you plan on using the same PSU in your main rig for the next several years. For your setup an Antec TruePower 380w (I guess you may as well get the 430w Antec TP since its only $5 more than the 380) should be more than enough for anything you're gonna toss in there.
