I'm using a Maxtor UltraATA100 PCI controller card, and since it's detected as a SCSI card by Win2k, I can't tell whether it's enabled DMA for my CD-ROM drives. I'm running a 550Mhz Celeron, and using CDSpeed, I'm getting 12% CPU utilization for the 8x test. Is this DMA on or off?
And if it's off, how do you get these Promise/Maxtor UltraATA controller cards to enable DMA for the connected drives?
