The Gforce4 MX and just the plain old normal Gforce4?

I'm having Video card Issues with AC2, and I am looking at alternative cards because I think it's my Vid causing me problems.

 
there is no plain old GF4.
there is a plain old GF3 but thats about it.
the MX is a bastardized GF2 Pro or something.. they're blah.
 
well I'm looking at getting AN MX, for my system it's running AC2 like crap. really slow. but my roomates computer who's is ALMOST identical to mine. Expect the video card runs it's smooth as silk.
