Whats the difference between these to P4T533 mobos?

I can't tell the difference other than the memory. AT used the P4T533-C for their high end system.

Memory (-C needs 16bit rdram which needs to be used in pairs, while the non -C uses 32bit and doesn't need to be used in pairs) and IIRC the -C has no raid as well.

Thanx guys for pointing that out. It really would have sucked had i bought a -C with 4200 :(

Also anyone had any issues with use of 4200 RIMMS? these seem to be really cheap compared to 1066s ($120 compared to $180-90) yet there is not much buzz about them!

It still runs nice though.. :)

Yah but do any mobos other than P4T533 run 4200 RIMMs? cause there is a $60-80 difference between a 256MB stick of 1066 and 4200

What was the jist of the thread. I am too lazy to read 75 pages of ramblings.

It seemed to fair well in all the 2.8 reviews that I have read. Including Toms.

No, the P4T533 is currently the only board supporting 32-bit RDRAM (RIMM-4200s).

Basically many people could not get their board to run, even at stock speeds, due to voltage regulation issues. Soldering capacitors onto the motherboard helped the issue in some cases, but it was still not too stable for overclocking.

At least, that's what I got out of it. I stopped following the thread when it was only about 65 pages because by then I had decided not to get that mobo. :p

I hope not since this is the MB that they used in the majority of tests I looked at. AT, Toms Hardware, Tweeknet.com, etc. It was even the one used in the 4 ghz thread that is going. Granted they modified it to cool with liquid nitrogen but hopefully I won't have any problems.

Well, that is true; and I was very excited by the reviews I had seen on the web but I definitely wouldn't put it past any company to send engineering samples to the review sites; and as we all know those unfortunately aren't necessarily representative of the actual product itself.

In any case I hope the board works out for you. :)
