What's the Difference Between these Processors?

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?masterid=4605951&zip_code=56368">AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor
(2.0GHz, 512KB, 1600MHz, Socket 939 - SKU: ADA3200BIBOX)</a>
This Costs $190.00

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor (2.0GHz, 512KB, 2000MHz, Socket 939 - SKU: ADA3200BPBOX)
This also Costs $190.00, the thing is this says 2000Mhz the other one says 1600Mhz, im wondering if this makes a difference.

AMD Athlon 3500+
This costs $267.00

Is there anywheres i can see benchmarks between the 3200 and the 3500. Which one do you think i should get and is more worth it for the money.

I play WoW and do some programming and rendering stuff as well. Usually when I run WoW i play itunes, just so you know what I do with my computer.

Between the two 3200+'s, one's a Clawhammer and the other is a Venice. A new core revision, 130nm versus 90nm. The last one (3500+) is the same as the 3200+, only with an extra 200 MHz.

Yes, but what is that 200 Mhz actually, like in benchmarks or performance. I also thought that AMD chips couldn't really be compared on the GHZ scale of things.

And you're right. Here's how it works.

3200+ Clawhammer - 120nm process. Basically, it runs hotter and is less efficient. Bad.

3200+ Venice - 90nm process, with SSE3 instructions. Runs cooler and more efficiently, and supports faster methods of data transport. HIGHLY OVERCLOCKABLE. Good.

3500+ Venice - 90nm process, SSE3, little faster than 3200+. Not fast enough to merit the $77 increase, because you can easily overclock the 3200+ to beyond the 3500+ capabilities.

I would guess it's related to the HTT link.
800MHz was the original HTT speed (2x800MHz = 1600MHz since it's a 2 way connection).
Modern boards (processors?) have a 1000MHz HTT link (so 2x1000MHz or 2000MHz), which would be my initial though.
I'm not sure whether it was a CPU thing that changed from 800MHz HTT to 1000MHz HTT or not though.
Both 3200+'s are listed as 2GHz, which is why I assume the other numbers refer to HTT.

Actually, the first one is a Winchester, the second is indeed a Venice. Both are 90nm, but Venice is slightly newer and better. (SSE3 amongst other things) 3200+ runs at 2GHz, the 1600mhz vs 2000mhz thing is the frequency of the hypertransport link.

fatetheory, you can't compare completely different CPUs with whatever number of Hertz or gigahertz they run at ; a clear example is Pentium4 vs Athlon64. However, comparing a Pentium4 3.0 vs a Pentium4 3.6 is logic, so is comparing a 2.0GHz 3200+ vs a 2.2GHz 3500+. For the performance difference between these cpus, I recommend looking at benchmarks from sites such as anandtech.com.

The specs on price grabber are messed up, both have 2000 HT. The first one if a Winchester and the second is a Venice, and the Venice does support SSE3
