What's the difference between these 2 kindles?

The 2nd link in the second generation Paperwhite. The only real difference is that the light dispersion is more uniform on the 2nd gen. I have the 1st gen and it is fine. There is a bit of a "spotlight effect" on the very bottom edge but it isn't distracting or really anything to worry about.

EDIT: I'm wrong. I'm not sure what the first one is, maybe a Kindle touch... it doesn't have a built in backlight anyway. That model was discontinued in the US for the paperwhite.

The less expensive has a smaller Screen Resolution.

Thus the letters on the screen might be somewhat more fuzzy.
