What's the difference between these 2 hard drives?

here's how they were advertised:

1) 30GB MAXTOR U.DMA 7200RPM $ 185
2) DiamondMax Plus - 7200 rpm, 2MB buffer, and Ultra ATA-100 30gb $198

ask you can see, the first one is $15 cheaper. is there a difference? or has the first advertiser simply left out some info?

You left out some crucial info, the serial numbers. These two hard drives, they can be DiamondMax Plus 40, DiamondMax Plus 45, or DiamondMax Plus 60.
