Does anyone know? The smart drive costs 60 but the silent drive costs 30...what's the big difference?

I would take a guess that Smart means it detects temps and speeds the fan up or slows it down to adjust.
Silent just means you can't hear it.

The SilentDrive is made of plastic/rubber and is meant for 5400rpm drives, afaik. The Smartdrives are made of aluminum and dissipate heat; the SmartDrive2002 is said to have no trouble with 7200rpm drives.
