Versa competes with sub-compacts such as the Fit, Yaris, Aveo, etc.

Sentra competes with compacts such as the Civic, Corolla, Mazda3, Cobalt, etc.

The Versa is smaller and cheaper than the Sentra (although not by much), and comes with less standard equipment and better gas mileage.
But really, there's a lot of overlap between the two.

Versa owner, not a fanboi
So far happy with it, bought it cause in the subcompact class its the largest cabin for passengers and the safest w standard aribags all around, and best highway road manners.

If I mostly drove city then I'd get the Fit, if price and gas mileage were the B-all then a stripped down Yaris
