I'm really stumped, cause they both look like good cards, but the prices are all over the place. I look on pricewatch and the price for the ultimate is more then the price for the ATi radeon pro 256mb. I look on the ATI website and ATI 256mb pro is $500.00.the Ultimate is only $400.00 bucks. The statistics for each card seems the same, but I can't find a site or anything that compares the two. Can anyone give me some help I really need to get a card, that's all i need to finish my PC. Thanks.

The Ultimate Edition card comes with a heatpipe instead of a stock HSF. It's quieter, but there is no performance difference. Peace.

9800 Pro 256 MB AGP = 9800 Pro Core....256 MB DDR-2
Sapp 9800 Pro Ultimate = 9800 Pro...128 MB DDR + Zalman Passive Heatink (Fanless)

Go to the graphics card section of TomsHardware.com and read the 256 MB review to see why 256 is a waste of money unless you play (old) games at 1600x1200 with AA/AF.

Since HL2 and D3 won't be playable at that resolution (and AA/AF) with a 9800 Pro, there are only a small number of older games that will get any benefit from 256 MB instead of 128. So save your money and buy a nice Sapphire 128 MB card for $372, or the $389 ultimate edition if you want to try fanless (newegg.com prices).

Thanks A Lot, This information helped me out. Especially at Tom's Hardware. I think im going to get the Sapphire 128 Ultimate edition. It is right at my price range. I was about to waist $100 bucks for a 256mb card. Thanks again. By the way what card do you reccomend? Or what card do you have on your PC rather. Thanks again.
