What's the difference between the Radeon 9800 and the 9800 Pro?

You have to pay $2000 more for the pro, and they both have DVI capabilities and TV-Out capabilites.

clock speed

a 9800 is clocked slightly below a radeon 9700 pro but IIRC they have the same memory so all you need to do is flash the bios and you have a pro

this is not that case for a 9700 np and 9700 pro because the bioses for these vary in other ways besides the clock but it is possible to flash a 9700 pro bios on a non pro

So, I should just get the Radeon 9800 if I'm short on cash? No significant performance differences?

Yup, it is. You might have to call a fe though. Only the 'larger' Best Buys carry them. I called like 5 or 6 and only 1 had them today.

I saw these about 2-3 weeks ago (and today as well), at the Best Buy in Orlando, Florida. Priced @ $299.

Thats surprising. I wonder what the deal with them is because its not listed on their site, not avaialble online except through Dell, and I haven't seen any reviews for it.
