I bought the official CISCO ccna study guide 2 years ago (test 640-407). now they are up to test 640-607. Is the 407 book still good? or have yhey added new things to the test and i should get the 607 book?

I took the 507 test. With that revision I heard they had added more switching content. I would definitely recommend you study a current book before taking the latest test. Not to mention they continue to increase the passing scores.

I would recommend finding a later version of the book. I think the 640-507 book would probably be pretty good; you can probably find it on eBay pretty cheap. Cisco's Web site states that the information on the 640-607 exam is the same as the 640-507, they just added router simulations. The new CCNA book just came out this week, so you won't find it used, I wouldn't think. Because of the router sims in the new exam, you might to want to get an exam simulation product as well, if you aren't that familiar with the router interface. Because the passing score is so high, I suggest making sure that you are as prepared as possible. If you are prepared, then you should do fine.
