What's the difference between the Epox EP-8KHA and the Epox EP-8KHA+?

Not much. You're stuck with shoddy VIA core logic either way. Kinda danged if you do, damned if you don't. 😛

8KHA utilizes the terrible KT266 chipset. Besides a host of deficiencies, the most notable is the inability to push the system's FSB above 138, without losing your USB ports. That is, assuming you can ever get them working in the first place. 🙂

8KHA+ is the same board, with the exception that the north bridge is 8366A (KT266A). It does "fix" the USB sh!tout @ 138 issue, but, unfortunately, causes other issues and fails to remedy a suite of issues which have existed in each and every chipset for the past several years.

I can't recommend either board.

Pabster is wrong on the 8KHA+ as usual.

This from the Epox site

<< The KT266A, 8KHA+ won over 35 Awards all over the world! Plus great news for the overclockers! We have heard many good things about how 8KHA+ can go over 150MHz and beyond. Now, we are researching a Beta BIOS that could bring it up to 200MHz. More to come!! For more information about this motherboard, please check the spec located at the products page or contact sales@epox.com for information about purchasing it at a place near you. >>

So the world is wrong and Pabster is right, btw I own that board and it`s rock stable 🙂>.

I own the Epox 8KHA+ board and it is just fine for me. If you know how to build them. You won't have any problems.

<< Ultima, stop spamming this thread. >>

FYI, I did not spam the thread, and I don't need you to tell me to stop doing something that I'm not doing in the first place.

I had originally posted in Off Topic by accident, and, thinking it would sink below the depths of the millions of topics posted there, I reposted it in General Hardware. To my surprise, one of the mods decided to move my thread to Motherboards for me, and I let it be. Hardly spamming.
