I read at macromedia.com that student version of STUDIO MX is $200 including(http://www.macromedia.com/resources/studiomx/LINK) so if the student version is the same as retail, except it says for students only, those who qualify is a great deal. You get the $1000 bundle for $200.

So really what the difference>?

Two things:

1) The loading splash screens for the programs say ' Education Version - Not For Commercial Use ' on them.

2) The license you get says that you cannot make money off the things you make, its for learning purposes only. So that if Macromedia really cared ( they don't ) and if they wanted to pursue it legally ( they won't ) they could sue your @$$ off if you use the educational versions to make $$$ or act as a business or anything like that.

You usually have to provide a student ID or some kinda schedule for them so they know what you're using it for.
