What's the difference between PPGA and FC-PGA?

Well,

FC-PGA (Flip-Chip Pin Grid Array)is Intels Flip-Chip technology, where they flip the core to face up, closer to the HSF unit.

I believe the older PPGA (Plastic Pin Grid Array...I think) was/is not this advanced, and prone to heat more!

PPGA was only on celerons and is .25 micron

fcpga started with the P3, and is now on the celeron. and it's .18 micron.
