Don't know if this is the entire difference, but jam tends to have actual pieces of the fruit in it, and jelly ain't got bupkis.

Also, cheap plastic paper feed mechanisms on printers have never produced a single paper jelly.

jelly is made from fruit juice
jam is made from the whole/parts of the fruit

here is a better explaination -> What is the difference between jelly, jam and preserves?

Jelly, jam and preserves are all made from fruit mixed with sugar and pectin. The difference between them comes in the form that the fruit takes.

In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice.
In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit (and is less stiff than jelly as a result).
In preserves, the fruit comes in the form of chunks in a syrup or a jam.

And whats your favorite flavor! I like strawberry :)
Strawberry is my favorite, but I prefer preserves.

My Dad use to bring home some great Strawberry preserves from Ireland. They came in a huge (gallon?) brown earthenware jug.

Guy that works with me cooked some biscuits and brought 'em in for breakfast one morning. Brought in butter and some strawberry jam (my favorite, BTW).

Cool thing was...the jam was in a sqeezable bottle, with a slot top. So you could spread it out evenly WITHOUT a knife. Nifty!

Think it was Smucker's brand, which also kicks mucho bootay.

Sweet
That would be one less knife I would have to clean :). Been eating a lot of peanut butter and JAM sandwiches lately. I am starting to run out of food again and I am to lazy to go to the store. Today for dinner I made fried Treat and cheese sandwiches :).
