whats the difference between IE 6 and IE 5.5????

have you used IE6? It's not too different, although I have an email @ netscape, and it wouldn't let me access it till I took activeX setting to low. one noticeable difference is a Media link right next to Favorites. just sec, I'll see where it goes. pretty useless--just music d-loads, movie previews and other msn crap. In the general section of internet options, there's a button to delete cookies, so I think they've just made it more secure. other than those things, it doesn't seem to be much different. oh, you can lock the toolbars, too. nice win95 touch.

Basically, better privacy controls, smoother scrolling, and faster response with fewer lockups.

Another difference is that IE 6 conflicts with lots of programs, so I had to revert back to IE5.5 because I will not go without some conflicting software.

those are happy/jolly/joyful icons. for once, I'm glad I still have 98se. stupid tiny gay icons.

One of the main diff. is that IE6 contains some core XP technology. So even if you install in on Win98 or 2K you will somehow have XP capable technology in you : )

also, pictures you look at auto-size to the size of the explorer window. not sure if 5.5 did that or not...
