They are both the same thing, used interchangably right? I just realized i've been using both without realizeing the difference, but once i thought about it...woah..is one a darker shade or something, grey sounds darker to me....

One is a color, the other is a name. Though most of the time these days people use them interchangably as the color. Captain Gray who discovered Gray's Harbor.

"Grey" is the colour. "Gray" is also the colour, but only because it has crept into common useage.

I thought only grey was the color?

If "gray" did become the color because of the common misuse, they'll have a heck of a time trying to figure out "you're" and "your" as well as the three "too"'s . . ..

I personally use "grey" because it seems to be the more descriptive of the two--more grey. Weird, I know. But the OP agrees so I know I'm not alone in feeling that way.

Crayola uses "gray". I'm going to blame all my troubles with the word on them, its just easier that way.

no, you have it backwards, grey is the 'brittish' version, and gray is the 'american' version.
