WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAT32 and NTFS

winxp asks if i want to convert.... well, do I?

which is faster, more reliable etc?

From what I understand, NTFS is the technically more efficient way to go. However, FAT32 will provide you with more flexibility...access from other os's, etc.

I always give this advice: If you don't know the prio's and cons of FAT32 vs. NTFS than use FAT32. It makes your life a little easier.

NTFS is:

1) Slightly more secure
2) Definately more reliable
3) Efficient/Fast

Ask yourself two questions, "Am I ever going to run more then 1 OS?" & "Can my second future OS go on another drive/partition?"

Yes + Yes = NTFS
Yes + No = FAT32
No + No = NTFS
No + Yes = Uh that's an impossible combination of answers
