whats the difference between dBA and dbl?

It's probably a stupid question, but do they have anything to do w/each other? The reason I ask is I'm looking for some case fans that are relatively quiet. On some sites I see dBA and on others dbl...

dbl - decibels
dba - database administrator. have no clue at the moment.

Ooo if i remember correctly its different reference standards.Theres some formula to convert one to the other,but if your looking for quiet fans its safe to say look for the lowest number.Decibles is a unit of sound measure.Lower number = quieter,im sure you allready know this so i'll just stop babbling now.
