Just saw on eBay, the X800 XT selling for anywhere between $500-600, but what really blew me away was the X800XT Platinum Edition was selling for around $900!!!!

My god man, what the hell do you get extra that makes it worth an extra $300-400?? I can't believe that the premium is just for the extra crap in the second box they give you; T-shirt/Demo CD/ Letter/Coupon?

(Thought not as bad as an eVGA nVidia 6800 Ultra that sold for $1400 a few days ago.)

think the XT is 500mhz core and the XT PE is simply an overclocked version at 520Mhz core and maybe a bit higher memory too

Actually, not too many are willing to pay an extra 100 dollars for 20 mhz.

X800 XT is the upcoming PCIe card which has an MSRP of $450

X800 XT Platinum Edition is the AGP card which has limited availability. MSRP is $500

I would guess that the XT's you see are really platinum editions.

If they are built by ATI the part number is 100-435210 for the platinum edition.

Clock and mem speeds only. Its the equivalent of Nvidia's Ultra Extreme.

Yep, I wouldn't have paid that much more for an XT PE, but I got in on the GW deal. Paid $434.95.

Bah, Gateway. I cancelled my order with them a while back. The way they're going, by the time they get around to sending it to you, the price would have already fallen to around that range anyway.
