What's the difference between a prostitute and a woman with a "sugar daddy"?

At what point is it considered prostitution where sex is exchanged for money, and simply a "relationship" where guys buy girls things in exchange for sex? Is there an actual legal definition regarding the ideas behind prostitution?

Similarly, I've always wondered this:

Since pornography is legal, why not just walk up to girl who doesn't mind getting paid for sex and say, "Hey, I'm making a porno, wanna be in it? I'll pay you $1.50". Then you just film the whole thing, and its legal.

A sugar-daddy is the one who pays, a prostitute is the one who earns.

The definition is as you said, in exchange for sex. However I don't think having a sugar-daddy makes you a prostitute, necessarily, or legally. It might come down to whether you got together from the start with the intent of exchanging money or goods for sex. If you just met and had sex and kept having sex and the guy kept buying stuff for the girl and she was willing to keep hanging out with him because of that, I don't think that's hooking.

Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?
Socialite: My goodness, Mr. Churchill... Well, I suppose... we would have to discuss terms, of course...
Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five pounds?
Socialite: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!
Churchill: Madam, we've already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.

It's a well-known loophole

"anecdotal"...that means something like "peer reviewed", right?😕

Churchill was great, even if he didn't say all the things which were attributed to him.🙂
Elizabeth Braddock: Mr. Churchill, you are drunk.
Churchill: And you madam, are ugly. As for my condition, it will pass by the morning. You, however, will still be ugly.

Lady Nancy Astor: Winston, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea.
Churchill: Nancy, if I were your husband, I'd drink it.

The difference between a prostitute and a sugar daddy? I thought they were both suckers.

I suppose the difference is that there is only one customer.

What if a guy goes out with a prostitute who has many customers, and happens to simply buy things for her whiel not actually being an "official" customer?

You need a camera crew to make that legal, so I'm told.
