What's the difference between a Nickel Cadium charger and a NiMH charger?

Do the two types of rechargable batteries really need seperate chargers or is it all a big scam?

NiMH batteries have a smaller peak. NiCAD batteries have a larger peak. If you have a peak detecting charger that is expecting a large peak, you may overcharge the NiMH batteries.

most nimh chargers i've seen can also charge nicd batteries.
