What's the difference between a Intel P3 and Intel SpeedStep P3?

What's the difference? I've heard of companies offering both the processors in laptops? does the speedstep processor give a huge performance boost?.........

Speedstep cuts performance:

When your laptop is using its battery, Speedstep helps by cutting your CPU clock speed so as to give it a longer battery life. But...AMD Power Now! is much better because Power Now! chooses a specific speed to throttle to depending on how demanding your current application is. Speedstep can only throttle to one lower speed, where Power Now! has at least 5 speeds to choose to throttle to. Hence, Morgan makes for a good laptop processor :)
