What's the difference between a 5700 LE and a plain 5700?

I know the 5700 LE comes clocked at much lower speeds (250/400?) I have a 5700 non LE/non ULtra that is clocked at 425/500, though it handles 540/600 easily.

Can most LE's be overclocked to the same core and memory speeds?

LE's can get to at least 350-400 MHz range. Often the memory can't get too much over 400 at all. Don't see a whole lot about the LEs.

At best you still have a 5700 core, which is kinda questionable for anything but OpenGL games.

Overall I think the Radeon 9550 is a better value if you're looking for anything DirectX, cheaper and faster. They are similar to the 5700 LE in that the core is severely underclocked and memory is 200 MHz DDR. However the ATi low/midrage card cores has proven to be much better at DX games than the GeForceFX cores.

Doesn't really matter, you won't be doing any "real" gaming on anything less than a 5700 core, or a Radeon 9500 Pro/9600 series upwards. Low end is really just low end, simple enough :) If you're looking for a card, bite the bullet, and get something like this. 9600 Pro
