What's the difference between 9800 SE and 9800 Pro?

Good day, or is it really a good day today?

I wonder what the difference between the Radeon 9800 SE and the Radeon 9800 Pro are, perhaps you know that and could tell me about it?

Then if I decide to buy a 9800 SE card, can I get one of those with 256 Mb?

9800se has only 4 pipelines compared to 8 in the Pro model. 9800se only has a 128 bit memory interface compared to 256 for the Pro. For the money, I would get the Pro.

The 9800SE has either 4 pipelines and 256bit memory or 8 pipelines and 128bit memory, but there is also a horrible 4 pipeline 128bit version around.
Some of the 256bit 4pl cards (like the Hercules 9800SE AIW) can be softmodded to 8 pipelines making them full 9800pros, but the chances of success are 30-70% (depending on the card). An ordinary 9800SE performs roughly as fast as a 9600pro.

Considering you are in Europe, a 5900XT might be the best buy for you. The only difference between it and a 5900 are the slower (400/700) core/memory speeds. Those cards go for ~200EUR around here. 9800pro and 9700pro cards are still expensive.

SE = reallllllllly bad... dont buy it, it has the performance of a 9600pro for tons of money. Get a 9600xt for the same price. 9800 pro is the way to go for 200 bux... shell out 50 more bux and youve got a way better card
