yep, plus some companies only release WHQL verified drivers, as opposed to many of the leaked drivers, which are usually not WHQL. Personally, I go for generic WHQL drivers, either from nvidia's website or guru3d.com
Nowadays there's VERY little diff, I'd rec nVidia's generic ones as the manu's are often VERY outdated. In older cards like GF2/3 the TVout may not work properly with the reference drivers but TVtool is better for that stuff anyway!
Always use nVidia's reference drivers. The manufacturers' drivers are usually outdated, introduce a lot of garbage utilities and can cause problems if you try changing video cards later on.
