What's the diff between Quick Format and regular Format when Formatting drives??

So i right click on my D:\ drive and i select format..

I get two options... "QUICK FORMAT" and "FORMAT"...

What are the diff??

Do the regular long format. Trust me.

lol, that helps...just trust me man....

if i remember correctly the quick format does not check the drive for errors or bad sectors and the normal one does.
someone correct me if i am wrong cause i heard that a long time ago
 
I think and I've known to be wrong from time to time that Quick Format just does a del *.* whereas a format does a full format.
 
well either way, i keep on getting an error that says, "COULD NOT COMPLETE FORMAT..."

Ugh... i think i have a bad sector or somethign...
