I have a Intel® SE440BX mobo, and it says it can take either one of those. So what would be the performace/speed differences or any diffrences between the two? thanks for the help in advance.

Big time faster? Don't think so. IIRC, the only diffrence are the KNI(Katmai New Instructions, something like MMX or 3DNow!).

Only in Programs which support the KNI, right?

It'll be quicker in some things, but not all.

The biggest difference for me was that P2-450's would only overclock to around 504, while most of the P3-450's I've had (maybe a dozen in all) will do 558MHz and some did 600MHz.

the P3 has SSE support & more optimizations. The SSE will only help in SSE-optimised applications, but the core improvement should help everywhere. I'd say about 10% increase.

10% cough ...

there wasnt that much core improvement. Just slight modifications. The main difference was SSE. Thats about it. The biggest change came when the die was shrunk and L2 was moved onto the die.

Eh, ok...I guess 10% is a little much for MOST stuff, but for SSE stuff 10% is a good guess.
