Are the Digital Audio CDRs better to use for music or something? Also will cd players play 80 minute CDs?

Question #1 = Not positive on this, but I know my cousin has one of those external Phillips cd recorder/player that is independant and is not connected to a computer, and it can only use digital audio only CD-R's to record.
Question #2 = Yes

Some older CD players do not handle longer CDs (laser doens't reach the outer edge). I don't think this is an issue anymore, but then again I haven't been using audio CDs much.

'Audio' CD-Rs are no better for recording on, but are worse on your wallet. They are required if you use a standalone 'Hi-fi' CD recorder, but not if you use a computer based recorder.

The vast majority of audio players will play CD-Rs, and of them most will play 80 minute discs.

I've not yet found a CD player that can't play CD-Rs, but I have found a couple that can't play to the end of 80 minute discs (they stop at about 74:30).

the only difference is the price and extra royalty $$$ that go to the record companies.
