correct me if i am wrong, but i remember reading that the x800xl's msrp is $300. the cheapest i can find it for is $370. anyone got any information?

I wonder how long these card manufactures are going to keep the supply so low. I have been waiting for the prices to come down, but it seems that ATI/Nvidia just keep "leaking" info abount new cards they can not supply. All this keeps the prices high. 🙁

CompUSA and Frys have them for $299 in store. I bought mine off of compusabusiness.com for like $272. The item no longer shows up there, but I got it yesterday. 🙂

They're coming, and I would guess that prices on those other gouging sites will drop once more of the ATI branded cards are available.

I get the feeling that CompUSA and Frys will be raising prices soon after they find out how hot the cards are. I personally don't believe ATI is really planning on making the card $300, I think they said it to generate buzz, and hope that people will pay the extra. The original quoted MSRP was $350, and then they changed it later. If you manage to find one for $300, it's a hell of a deal, though.

My vote is that at $300-$350, the card is worth it, but if it's around $375-$400, my nod goes to the 6800GT.

THERE ARE ABOUT A HUNDRED THREADS DISCUSSING THE SAME DAMN THING!!! Wait for a price drop, and PRAY ATI dosen't have any more "difficulties."
