What's the deal with the P3 1000e?

These things just disappeared. What gives? I'm hoping to get a pair of these for a dually, but right when I was ready to buy, I looked around and they were all gone. Does anybody know of a reason why these wouldn't be available again? Or should I start looking for something else?

sorry m8.. FCPGA 1000E cD0's are gone. Intel don't make them anymore. Ya know... it's outdated and it's P4 time for Intel.

Coppermine P3's were discontinued last Dec. I suppose they have just sold through. I noticed some discounters like compgeeks were blowing 'em out last month so that is prolly a good sign there aren't many left in normal channels. Your best bet is prolly e*Bay or local. Or swap mainboards for a Tualatin compatible and make up for it by getting the equivalent Celeron for nearly half the price. Dual might be a problem though.
