What's the deal with the keyboard?

Sometimes my keyboard acts up. meaning... i type, it gives me caps, and when i turn on caps, it gives me small, and when i try to type other characters such as commas, periods and numbers, it gives my the other characters with them. for example: if i type 1 it will type !, 2..@, 3..#, u get? it rarely happens but it happened today!
