I mean crucial and kingston doubled overnight, a few weeks ago i heard, and I never actually understood why...can anyone shed some light on this?

In case you haven't heard, Intel started shipping P4 chipsets about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks ago. Thus demand for DDR skyrocketed in conjunction.

That sure makes me glad that I bought that 2X256Mb PC2100 DDR for $70 tax, title, license and shipped the middle of November. :)

Perhaps now would be a good time to get a rambus based system? kidding

I noticed DDR PC2100 256MB sticks jumped from $53 to $61 since yesterday at crucial.com. Thus solidifying my choice to get the ECS K7S5A and stick with SDRAM until the prices come back down.
