Whats the deal with Princess Di?

Okay, five years after she passed away people are still talking about her.

I can think of exactly one reason why I would admire someone or elevate them to such a pedestal as she's apparently on with some people - and that's the accomplishments they have made in life.

NOT what one happened to have born into or married into...

Am I just ignorant or has she done something - I dunno charity work, perhaps, that makes her stand out among millions of others?

Latest rumor is she was pregnant with her boyfriends baby and was killed for it by British loyalists. Just more tabloid BS for people to swallow who have nothing better to do with their time.

do a google search on her name, she is a very amazing person

really i dont think she did much besides the land mine disarmerment.

It is also very easy to do most of the things she did because she had a lot of cash which I don't believe came from hard work. Mother Theresa did a lot more, she would literaly give the clothes off her back and has on occassion, and almost no one is still talking about her.

I am personally disgusted at all the sensationalism surrounding her. She seems to have been a good person, but there was nothing remotely amazing about her aside from her birth. I bet Ive known better people (aside from the birth part).

Get over it!

Easy? This woman was one of the most photographed women of her times, constantly chased around and harassed by the paparazzi. Not to mention she had to deal with all of the trappings of royalty and all that entails on a daily basis; being royalty doesn't mean you're without a lot of responsibility. At least she did get involved and tried to make more of her life. She could have done as little as possible but she chose to make more of her life. She was no Mother Theresa but she was no slouch either.

Believe it or not, I am 1,032nd in line for the English Crown. Or I was when I was 12. Not sure now.

Wow, thats cool. Im like 50 millionth in line for the non-existant Italian Crown 🙂

You guys do know that she was a commoner who married into royalty, right? She wasn't born into it.

Either way, I don't think she did anything to make her as wonderful as some make her out to be.

Personally, I don't get the fascination either. I think her popularity stems from the old rags to riches or Cinderella story.
I don't think it's cool to dis her though. From what I know, none of this fascination/popularity was asked for. She was just a good woman (again, from what I've heard) who fell in love, got married, had a couple of kids, found out her hubby was fvcking around, and divorced his ass. Her husband just happened to be a prince.

Do note that she had been f*cking the stableboy and several others during the marriage too, even before he started messing around. UK people didn't like the royal family much at that time, and as she seemed to stand much closer to the general public she was liked a lot more. She didn't do all that much, but more than the royal family, and therefor people thought she was great.
