What's the deal with Pibb Xtra... What happened to Mr. Pibb?

Went to get a Coke from the machine in school today.
Sold out..
Second choice.. Cherry Coke
Sold out..

Ok.. Mr. Pibb

Out comes a bottle with a funky looking label that says "Pibb Xtra"

It tastes like Mr. Pibb trying to be Dr. Pepper (way moreso than before)

.. but like a generic imataion (think Sam's Choice Southern Lightning.. or as I like to call it "Dr. Ghetto")


Although I prefer Dr. Pepper over the two, I did like the original Mr. Pibb.
It was a nice alternative to Dr. Pepper, with a distinct taste of its own (like Coke vs. Pepsi)

Now, Pibb sucks.

After doing some research, I find out the leeding authority on Mr. Pibb, misterpibb.com,
says the old Mr. Pibb is being gradually replaced with the new "Pibb Xtra"

Argh... doesn't the Coca-Cola bottling company remember the New Coke nightmare ?

I guess a few years from now... we will see Mr. Pibb Classic in stores.

Messing with Pibb makes no difference to profit, Pibb already sucks, i bet it is 1/100,000 of their yearly sales.

The old Pibb didn't totally suck..

like a said it was very similar to Dr. Pepper, but did have a distinct taste.


Now it tastes like fake Dr. Pepper.


Besides, Coke already owns part of Dr. Pepper..

Why have two products tat are almost the same ?

It is suspected that Mr. Pibb was a victim of foul play. Some suspect Dr. Pepper.

I'm still pissed at Frito-Lay for Nacho Cheesier, Cooler Ranch and Spicier Nacho Doritos.

They just couldn't leave well enough alone. :|
