I do sometimes, mostly just because it adds an extra layer if it's a little cool out.

i wear a hanes white shirt underneath everyshirt i wear, it helps for sweat/smell and also keeps my t-shirts in better condition, and i also like the feel of my under shirts as other shirts seem to irritate my skin or just annoy me

I wear an undershirt (Indian variation of a wifebeater), a t-shirt and a full sleeve shirt in Michigan summer. The layering is for comfort and I got into the habit of a full sleeve shirt a couple of years ago when I had psoriasis (sp?) outbreak and I was really embarrased of the skin marks. I never outgrew the habit of wearing a full sleeve shirt. I also wear them in dark colors (my taste in clothes).

People look at me funny, some friends and family members crack jokes but I don't care. I don't sweat much, I can handle the heat and I don't need an A/C to survive the summer (I set the house A/C at 85F (+) when I am home alone.

I make up for the temperature differential by not wearing underpants.

Before I moved to texas I wore an undershirt plus any regular t-shirt. It was more comfortable and kept my real shirts from excessive washing/fading/wear.

I guess i'm gonna have to try the 2 shirts out for myself, because I can't see how it's more comfortable at all.

I don't think its uncommon and I sometimes do wear an undershirt. I often wear a hanes tank top or "wife beater" in the summer since I can just unbutton the dress shirt and be more comfortable right after work.

Don't wear 2 actual t-shirts, they are too thick unless you are in a cold climate. Go to wal-mart and buy a pack of undershirts... they are in packs of 3 or 5. They are pretty thin, and keep most of the dirt and sweat your body makes off of the shirt you're wearing over it, allowing you to wear your real shirts twice as long before washing.

I think it's more of something you get used to. Once you're used to wearing a undershirt and dress shirt combo when you wanna wear any other normal shirt it's just natural to put on an undershirt.
