What's the deal with overpasses?

It's finally spring around here and I'm driving with my windows open and more people are riding motorcycles. I've noticed that almost every motorcycle that passes me has to rev their engine whenever they go under an overpass, at first I thought it was something guys did to compensate for their small penis, today I had a deafening blast of exhaust shot into my open car window by a woman rider. I am pretty sure women are immune to problems associated with a small penis, so what's the real deal, do motorcycles stall if they're not revved under an overpass? It seems like bikes with stock pipes don't have this problem, why would someone install loud pipes if it makes their motorcycle so unreliable they can't even drive under an overpass?

until you have driven a bike or car with nice sounding exhaust, you will never know.

I didnt until I bought my MR2. I admit it, I rev at underpasses

I always enjoyed being able to set off car alarms in parking garages with my Supra.

its just something to do. I've done it in the past and most likely will do it again in the near future.

The only time I saw a car that could set off alarms, it was some riced out POS Celica. Plastic body skirts, lowered to about an inch off the ground, gigantic fart can hanging off the back, spoiler swinging at least a foot into the air. My opinion of the idea stems largely from that.

ALS? Abnormally Large Sound?

Anti Lag System... Dump 7:1 AFR into the exhaust with aux air bypass into the exhaust manifold and retard timing 40 deg ATDC... keeps turbine spooled when there is no load on the engine.

Underground parking garage + ALS + hold on the rev limiter :awe:

I set off alarms in open parking lots just idling by. It's more the bass content of the exhaust and moving large volumes of air than being loud. I don't rev through underpasses. Car is excessively deafening loud as it is, I do have some respect for others and don't need to draw negative attention :D

I used to love flooring my truck through the highway 26 tunnels near Sylvan in Portland...

The loud pipes are a sign of small penis syndrome. Maybe they do have to rev them to keep them running. Sounds like shit that's for sure.

Yeah, you set it off by bass. The ricers set it off by farting. One is respectable, one should have their heads shoved up the exhaust.

Haha, that's not me, I just have a 3" exhaust on the car. It has a nice exhaust note, not as deep as a large displacement V8, but not raspy either.

If this car was still driven daily, I would probably replace it with something quieter or add in a glasspack somewhere to cut the noise a little. As it is, it passes inspection, and that's good for me.

LOL, we have a nice two bridge setup that goes over a main street in our town. I just went to the store in the evo and found myself giving the car a little extra gas as I went under..... has nothing to do with my penis size, it is just fun

I think it just comes down to what fuzzy said, you won't understand until you get a vehicle that sounds substantial.

Get in front of them and turn on your windshield wipers/wash.
