I recently found an article saying nexuiz would be one of the first games to come out using cryengine 3. This confuses me because its already out, and uses a different engine. Is a new version going to be released? or is it a new game altogether?

Also they mentioned it would be released on xbox and ps3, so will the game still be free? Did the developers sell the franchise? Im confused

Also anyone know how to get 3d vision working on the current version of nexuiz?

From what I just read it's still going to use CryEngine3. And I'm not sure what you mean by "it's already out" as it's very much not... the website even says "Summer 2011".

Also, it was licensed for commercial development so it will no longer be free. It'll be a commercial release on the 360, PS3, and PC via Steam.

well its must be a re-release/remake then because I have Nexuiz on my computer. So "it will no longer be free" and "its not out" kind of contradict each other.

I just dont understand why they dont name it nexuiz 2 or something.....

They are developing a new version of the game using Cryengine 3. What's so hard to understand about that?

So its going to be a completely new game? Or just the same old game, but based on the new engine?

Why not name it Nexuiz 2 if its going to be different?

The original was a Quake mod or something. This is a standalone game based on the new engine and is going to be sold instead of open source like originally intended.

Why they haven't changed the name I don't know, but there ya go.

They are basically remaking the game in CE3. It will be similar, just updated graphically, and able to operate as an independent game on multiplatform.

Yes it is already out, and has been for some time now. It's based on the quake engine, but it's a standalone game. There will be a new version coming out though using Cryengine3 released on consoles, and through steam. Check out the details on wikipedia:

I remember nexuiz from several years ago ... much fun to play with my friends who are newwer into PC's and don't have legit copies of quake or quake 2.
